Project

Lucia Zavarcikova is an award winning Slovak cinematographer, adjusting her portfolio and brand identity to an American market. Her personal visual style is mainly based on vivid, colorful lights and fictional settings. The main purpose was to create a site that would stand as a representation of her work as well as match her own style as a filmmaker. The website had to be easily scalable and accessible on all platforms. Given that one of the most important things for a filmmaker is networking, the design of the site also dictated the direction of her brand through new stationery.

Work

For this project, I created a website in combination with brand design. Wanting to emphasize the collection of texture and color in her films, I chose to build dark, clean interface that would make the visuals stand out as a unified collection. Going through Lucia’s portfolio, I helped identify and select the most powerful imagery that best represented her work. Using and manipulating close-ups from her stills, I created textures used in business cards that connected to the main visual style.
